Richard “Dick” E. Koch - 76

Walnut - Richard “Dick” E. Koch, age 76, of LaSalle, Illinois died on Monday March 5, 2012 at OSF Medical Center Peoria, Illinois.

He was born on March 29, 1935 in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Charles O. and Bernadine L. (McArty) Koch. Richard was united in marriage to Debra Hardersen in April of 1987 at the Smoky Mountain Chapel in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. He retired in March of 2000 from the Adult Day Care Center at Illinois Valley Community Hospital. He was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his wife Debra Hardersen of LaSalle, Illinois; four children Brenda (Mike Crawford) Koch of LaSalle, Illinois, Lori (Bill) Ridder of Villa Park, Illinois, Shari (Alan) Thacker of Northbrook, Illinois, Brian Koch of Atlanta, Georgia; five grandchildren, two step grandchildren, one step great grandson; one brother Donald (Joyce) Koch of Naperville, Illinois; one sister Joyce Harner of Decatur, Illinois; several nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Private graveside service will be held at Elm Lawn Memorial Park in Princeton, Illinois. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS MEMORIALS CAN BE SENT TO ILLINOIS VALLEY HOSPICE. I think blogs, facebook, and Twitter will be the Media to watch in the ftuure....people communicating with people, staying current in our communities and the world, becoming better informed in these trying times, and generally networking with each other in ways that were never possible!!
