Thelma V. Lauritzen, age 88, of 308 S. Second St. Walnut, Illinois died Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Walnut Manor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Lauritzen was born on January 30, 1920 in Prophetstown, Illinois, the daughter of Robert and Diana (Denton) Glass. She was united in marriage to Robert L. Lauritzen on March 4, 1940 in Davenport, Iowa. He preceded her in death on April 5, 2003. She was a homemaker and a member of the Red Hat Society. She had a hobby ceramic business for many years.
She is survived by one son Larry (Karen) Lauritzen of Ohio, Illinois; one daughter in law Joyce (Robert) Lauritzen of Tampico, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Robbin Klockenga, Joy Williams, Robert Lauritzen, Russell Lauritzen, Jenny Lucas, Debra Dahl, Deena Brants, and Diana Lauritzen; twenty great grandchildren; twelve great great grandchildren; one sister Dorothy Comp of Buda, Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, one son Robert, and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut with the Rev. Paul Nolden, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Walnut, officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Cemetery. Visitation will held on Tuesday from 2 to 3 p.m. A MEMORIAL HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED IN HER MEMORY TO: WALNUT MANOR NURSING HOME AND WALNUT FIRE DEPARTMENT.
