Judy E. Sidebottom, age 62, of Toluca, Illinois and formerly of Walnut, Illinois passed away June 29, 2015 at Richard L. Owens Hospice in Peoria, Illinois.
Judy was born April 25, 1953 in Princeton, Illinois, the daughter of Albert and Marie (Von Holten) Schulte. She was united in marriage to Steven Sidebottom on November 25, 1972 in Ohio, Illinois. She babysat for many years in Walnut. Judy worked as a cook with Heritage Health in Minonk, worked at the Toluca Garment Factory and Miller Hardware. Judy also helped Steve run their bar, Suds, in Toluca for 15 years. She was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Toluca. Judy enjoyed spending time with her grandkids.
She is survived by her husband, Steve; three daughters: Jennifer (Brad) Fandel of Toluca, Christine (Sean) Cunningham of Minonk and Karen (Derek) McCully of Morton, Illinois; one son: Steven (Keli) Sidebottom of Minonk; eleven grandchildren: Merceades Fandel, Peyton Fandel, Sierra Fandel, Brayden Cunningham, Kyra Cunningham, Lucas Sidebottom, Parker Sidebottom, Mila Sidebottom, Isabelle McCully, Maya McCully and Dylan McCully; her mother, Marie Schulte of Walnut; three sisters: Carolyn (Don) Wallace of Tampico, Illinois, Joyce (Dean) Geldean of Harmon, Illinois, Carla (Tim) Gonnigam of Walnut; three brothers: Virgil (Judy) Schulte of Walnut, Marc (Carol) Schulte of Walnut and Jim (Cindy) Schulte of Ohio, Illinois and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Albert and one brother, Jerry Schulte.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Walnut Bible Church with Rev. Ryan Anderson, Pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Toluca and Rev. Eldon Cook, Pastor of the Walnut Bible Church, co-officiating. Burial will take place in Van Orin Repose Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. Merrill L. “Pat” Draper, age 93, of Amboy, Illinois died Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Aperion Care in Amboy.
Pat was born February 17, 1922 the son of Ivan and Helen (Murphy) Draper in New Bedford, Illinois. He was united in marriage to Joyce Conner on October 18, 1946 in Ohio, Illinois. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Pat moved to the Walton area in 1948 and farmed there for his whole life. He was a member of the Amboy School Board, the Lee County Merit Board, the Lee County Deputies Association, the Lee County ASCS committee, and the Walnut Masonic Lodge #722. He was the East Grove Township Road Commissioner for 26 years. Pat was a former member the Ohio United Methodist Church and a present member of the Red Oak United Methodist Church. He enjoyed the Lee County 4H Center. He served on the 4H Center Board and was a 4H leader. Pat enjoyed fishing in Canada, area high school sports, and local livestock shows. He dearly loved his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Joyce of Amboy; one daughter, Kelli (Jane) Draper of Dixon, Illinois; one son, Tom (Theresa) Draper, their two children, Nathan Draper and Lydia Draper all of Amboy; one daughter- in law, Sandra (Michael, deceased) Draper, their two children, Jonathan Draper and Mathew (Katie) Draper, one great-grandchild, Curtis Draper, all of Amboy; one sister Marjorie Frank of Palm Springs, California; one sister- in law, Barb Draper of Ohio, Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Michael; one son in infancy, both parents and four brothers, Marvin, James, Ivan “Short” Jr. and Robert; and one sister, Marian Gustafson.
A funeral service will be held Friday, June 19, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut, with Rev. Judy Giese, Pastor of the Red Oak United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will take place in Walnut Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 18, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. Rosemary Carpenter, age 85, of Walnut, Illinois died Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at her home in Walnut surrounded by her family.
Rosemary was born on September 8, 1929 in Walnut, Illinois the daughter of Kennison and Helen (Meltzer)Williams. She was united in marriage to Marvin R. Carpenter on August 6, 1950. He preceded her in death on January 28, 1983. She worked at Model Clothing and Avanti Foods in Walnut during her lifetime. She was a member of the Walnut United Methodist Church where she was very active in the church circle and in the church choir. She also was a member of the Bryant Club.
She is survived by three daughters Becky (Mark) Netherland of Glenview, Illinois, Beth Carpenter of Huntley, Illinois, Wendy Carter of Bourbonnais, Illinois; one son Robert (Heidi) Carpenter of Fort Collins, Colorado ; 5 grandchildren Cassie Carter, Justin Carter, Ashley Carter, Logan Carter and Henry Netherland; two sisters Joanne Adams of Phoenix, Arizona, Carolyn Williams of Phoenix, Arizona; two brothers Roger Williams of Corinth, Texas, Larry (Connie) Williams of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother Ronald Williams and one sister Mildred Hollingsworth.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday June 13, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the Walnut United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mark Harkness, pastor officiating. Beverley G. Dahl, age 79, of Walnut, Illinois passed away Monday, June 8, 2015 at her home.
Beverley was born October 7, 1935 in Kewanee, Illinois, the daughter of Carroll and Edith (Gustafson) Purdy. On February 7, 1955 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Earl Dahl, Jr. in Corwith, Mississippi. He preceded her in death on January 22, 1989. She worked at Harper- Wyman in Princeton for several years.
She is survived by one daughter, Kendra (James) Yohnka of Walnut, Illinois, three grandchildren, Carolyn Joy Sleiff, James K. Yohnka and Konnor W. Yohnka; two great- grandchildren, Reanna and Devin Slaight; one sister, Carolyn (Ronald) Kern of Bloomington, Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews.
Beverley was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, one son, George, one daughter, Rosemarie, one sister, Karen and four brothers, Harold, Edward, William and Kenneth.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 12, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut, with Russell Roberts officiating. Burial will take place in Walnut Cemetery. D. Eileen Davis- Nielsen, age 94, of Sterling, Illinois died Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.
Eileen was born on July 15, 1920 in Golden, Illinois, the daughter of Elijah Wells “Tom” and Nellie Schieferdecker Osborne. She was united in marriage to Arthur L. Davis on January 24, 1943 in Tampico, Illinois. He preceded her in death on October 22, 1985. She then married Henry Nielsen on December 13, 1987 in Tampico. He preceded her in death on July 24, 2006. During her lifetime she was a telephone operator, a farmer’s wife, and owned and operated the EOD Antique Shop. Eileen was a member of the Tampico United Methodist Church, The Red Hatters, and was an avid card player. She also was very active at the Whiteside County Fair in the floral exhibits.
She is survived by two sons Rick (Maryse) Davis of Toulouse, France, Paul (Sandy) Davis of Rock Falls, Illinois; one daughter Mary Chriest of Rock Falls, Illinois; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren with another due this year; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, son in law Roger Chriest, two brothers Gene and Lee and one sister Margaret.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 6th at10:30 at the Tampico United Methodist Church with the Rev. Leanne Keate, pastor officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico. Burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery.  Russell W. Hall, 68 died suddenly Sunday November 17, 2019 at Tucson Medical center.

He was born on October 18, 1951 in Kewanee, IL the son of James L. and Theresa M. (Perino) Hall. He was a 1969 graduate of Newman Central Catholic High School in Sterling and was a 1973 graduate of St. Ambrose University in Davenport, IA.  He married Sue Stowell on September 17, 1977. She died July 11, 2016.

Russ Hall joined Cushman & Wakefield | PICOR in March 1992. He was a shareholder and beloved heart and soul of this Tucson-based, employee-owned company. Russ was a consistent market leader in his commercial real estate specialization, the sale and lease of industrial real estate. Russ earned Top Producer Awards five times and achieved “Winner’s Circle” status (top three producers) in most of his years at C&W| PICOR, often with Stephen Cohen, his teammate since 2013. He took his profession to heart, earning designations from the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) in 1992 and the Cushman & Wakefield Global Supply Chain Solutions (GSCS).

 Russ had a deep love of cycling locally and abroad and often joined the Bookman’s cycling group for their rides. He was an earnest fundraiser and pancake flipper for the PICOR Charitable Foundation, joined the board of Tucson Wildlife Center, was a lifetime trustee of the Carondelet Foundation, past president of the Tucson Sunrise Rotary Club, a former Dale Carnegie instructor, and a Greater Tucson Leadership graduate.

 Russ embodied “love thy neighbor” and made everyone he encountered feel special. His family and friends will do their best to honor his spirit and legacy by sharing love with those who most need it.

Survivors include his son, Tyler Joseph Hall of Tucson; his sister Theresa (Tom) Sizemore of Oskaloosa, IA; his brother Jim (Rhonda) halls of Rockford, IL; his brother in law, Cal (Jennifer) Stowell of Atlanta, GA and several nieces and nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Celebration of Life will be held on December 7, 2019 at 1 PM at St. Pius Catholic Church in Tuscon, AZ, with a light luncheon to follow.
