Richard L. Reuter, age 72, of Ohio, Illinois died Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Colonial Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Princeton, Illinois.
Richard was born December 31, 1942 in Princeton, Illinois, the son of Ivan and Doris (Johnson) Reuter. He did farming, trucking and custom shelling in the Ohio, Illinois area during his lifetime. He was a former member of the Ohio United Methodist Church.
He is survived by one brother, Donald (Barb) Reuter of Ohio; one sister, Mary Reuter of Oglesby, Illinois; one brother- in law Chuck Johnson of Bloomington, Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Linda, two nephews and a niece.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial has been established in Richard’s memory to the Ohio Fire Department.

Urias D. Miller, 85, of Tampico, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, at his home.
He was born Aug. 16, 1930, in Topeka, Indiana, a son of Daniel J. and Elizabeth (Yoder) Miller.
Survivors include his wife, Marietta; four children, Mary (Delbert) Headings of Green Forest, Arkansas, Aden (Starr) Miller of Tampico, and Paul Miller and Martha Kropf, both of Ohio; one brother, Raymond (Erma) Miller of Indiana; and one sister, Mae (Clarence) Schrock of Indiana; 23 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Fairfield Amish Mennonite School, south of Tampico. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fairfield Amish Mennonite Church, south of Tampico. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Dale DeCrane, 83, of 206 E. Elkhorn, Polo, Illinois, died October 9, 2015 at CGH Medical Center, Sterling. Arrangements are made at Garland Funeral Home, Tampico. Dale was born in Atkinson, Illinois on August 15, 1932, the son of Edward and Augusta (DeSutter) DeCrane. He attended Hutslander Grade School and St. Bede Academy, Peru. He married Mary Ann Manthe on April 19, 1952. She died July 24, 1993. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Rock Falls.
He is survived by one son, Martin (Tracey) DeCrane, of Polo; one daughter, Angie (Steve) Buckley of Lyndon; four grandchildren, Samuel, Spencer, Halie and Joshua DeCrane, one great- grandchild, Sienna DeCrane; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: two brothers, Wilber and Vincent; one sister, Marjorie Causemaker, and a special friend, Corinne Richmond.

Larry G. McKanna, age 64, of Walnut, Illinois died Thursday, October 1, 2015 at his home.
Larry was born on January 11, 1951 in Aledo, IL the son of Claude and Louise (Diggs) McKanna. He was united in marriage to Barbara Metcalfe on June 2, 1979 in Walnut, IL. He was a carpenter at Walnut Components for 20 years and then worked for Custom Homes for several years. Larry loved fishing.
He is survived by his wife Barbara McKanna of Walnut, IL; two stepdaughters Jean (Jim) Mauar of Orlando, FL, Jennifer (John) Reinke of Wakefield, KS; one stepson Royal (Candace) Blondin of Walnut, IL; six grandchildren; three sisters Nancy (Harvey) Andrew of Walnut, IL, Sharon (Dean) Ege of Mendota, IL, Eloise Minzey of Walnut, IL; one brother Bob (Janice) McKanna of Rock Falls, IL; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one stepgrandson TJ Hall.

Eula N. McGraw, age 97, of Janesville, WI and formerly of Ohio, IL and Deland, FL died Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Agrace Inpatient Hospice Unit in Janesville.
Eula was born on October 14, 1917 in Fromberg, Montana, the daughter of Harry and Mildred (Robinson) Lyle. She was united in marriage to Edward McGraw on June 5, 1937 in Amboy, IL. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1984. She owned and operated Eula’s Beauty Shop in Ohio for 55 years. Eula was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church of Ohio, the OCCW at the church and the Ohio Senior Citizens.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas McGraw of Janesville, WI and Richard (Kathy) McGraw of Deland, FL; five grandchildren; fourteen great- grandchildren; seven great-great- grandchildren; one sister Mariece Bone of Morton, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, two grandsons and two sisters.

Rita was born on November 9, 1917 in Sublette, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Dinges) Kuebel. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Spitz on November 16, 1942 in Sublette, IL. He preceded her in death on February 2, 1989. Ken and Rita owned and operated Spitz Plumbing and Heating in Amboy where she was the bookkeeper for many years. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church of Amboy, the Parish Women Association, and American Legion Women’s Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughter Sheila (G.G.) Garcia of Amboy, IL; 5 grandchildren Ileana (Joseph) Garcia- Spitz Wilson of Elsa, TX, Jorge (Laure) Garcia-Spitz in Brooklyn, NY, Cristela Garcia- Spitz of San Diego, CA, Benjamin Garcia-Spitz of Chicago, IL, Juan Carlos Garcia-Spitz of Chicago, IL; one sister Rose Biederstedt of Mendota, IL; one brother Charles (Florence) Kuebel of Sublette, IL and numerous nieces and nephews.

Loretta M. Thompson, age 93, formerly of Walnut, Illinois died Sunday, September 13, 2015.
Loretta was born September 19, 1921 in Walnut, the daughter of Clarence and Gertrude (Lewis) Whitver. She was united in marriage to Erwin J. Thompson on August 21, 1941 in Del Ray, Florida. He preceded her in death in 2002. Loretta was a kind and loving mother and grandmother, who will be missed dearly by all.
She is survived by five children: Kay (Jimmy) White, Linda (James) Donnelly, James C. (Susan) Thompson, Peggy (John) Kintzele and John E. (Wendy) Thompson; 7 grandchildren, 12 great- grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one grandchild Tina (Teeney) White.

Carl Junior Gustafson, age 89, formerly of Walnut and Sterling, IL died Sunday September 6, 2015 at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley, IL.
Junior was born on October 13, 1925 in Walnut, IL, the son of Carl Albert and Florence M. (Griffin) Gustafson. He served in the United States Marines during World War II with the 5th Marine Division in the battle of Iwo Jima. He was united in marriage to Emma Lou Bohm on December 26, 1948 in Manlius, IL. She preceded him in death in July 1968. He then married Virginia Beattie Toms in Sterling, IL on November 26, 1976. Junior farmed and was a truck driver in the Walnut area during his lifetime. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Walnut and a 60 year member of the Walnut American Legion Post #179.
He is survived by his wife Virginia Gustafson of Sterling, IL; two daughters Sharon Gustafson of Walnut, IL, Carla (Pete) Kerr of Walnut, IL; one step son John (Nancy) Toms of Naperville, IL; three grandchildren Megan Kerr, Emma and Ethan Toms; two sisters Elaine Curtis of Claremore, OK; Betty Christiansen of Montross, Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, 5 brothers and one sister.

Tracy J. DeWaele, age 52, of Princeton, IL died Saturday September 5, 2015 at her home.
Tracy was born on September 28, 1962 in Princeton, IL; the daughter of Donald G. and Joyce A. (Martin) Sergeant. She was a secretary at Winter Sports in Ohio, and also worked at Peerless Level in Walnut, Amboy Nursing Home, the Dairy Queen in Amboy and Beggs Grocery store in Amboy. Tracy volunteered for Amboy ESDA for many years. She was a member of the New Hope Church of the Nazarene in Princeton, IL.
She is survived by one son Joshua DeWaele of Amboy, IL; her father Donald Sergeant of Walnut, IL; two sisters Terry (Norm) Vandermoon of Princeton, IL, Tammy Chamberlain of Walnut, IL; one brother Jim Sergeant of Princeton, IL; several nephews ; and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and mother.
Cremation rites were accorded. Burial of cremains will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Princeton. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Princeton High Rise 444 S Church St. Princeton, IL. John A. Mitchell - 994/11/1916 - 9/2/2015
John A. Mitchell of Rock Falls, formerly of Tampico, became "God's Carpenter" on September 2, 2015 at the age of 99.
John A. Mitchell was born April 11, 1916 in Hooper, Nebraska, the second oldest of eight children born to Frank & Cora Agnes (Renninger) Mitchell. He married Maxine Rasmussen in 1938; they had three children: Jack, Ronald, and Connie. In 1939 John had to leave his family in Nebraska to seek work and hitch-hiked his way to Illinois. Upon finding work at the Stauffer Dairy Farm, south of Rock Falls, he sent for his family. In 1941 John began working at Northwestern Steel & Wire in the maintenance department of the west plant. He was often known as “P.W.’s boy," as he was often called in to fix things others could not. He retired in 1978 after 37 years. In 1973, John married Mildred (Renner) Smith and became a step-father to son, Reiley Smith. John spent the years after retiring from NWSW working as "Mr. Fix It” around Tampico and at the Whiteside County Senior Center. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Tampico and served as a trustee. A member of the Tampico Lions Club, John was celebrated in 2008 for being the oldest member in the district. In 2009, he was honored as the Grand Marshall of the Tampico Days parade. The greatest joy of his life were his seventeen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and especially his six great-great-grandchildren. He had been looking forward to the 2016 birth of his seventh great-great-grandchild. There were also countless neighbors and friends who called him "Grandpa" as well.

Visitation will be 10:00am at First United Methodist Church of Tampico, with a service following at 11:00am on Saturday with the Rev. Leanne Keate, pastor officiating.
