Ohio, IL Carole L. Mueller, age 75, of Ohio, Illinois died Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at her home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Carole Lynn Sanderson was born on November 29, 1940 in DeKalb, IL, the daughter of Charles and Corella ( Knutson) Sanderson. She graduated from Malta High School and attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and began work as a Secretary at Northern Illinois University immediately after. She was united in marriage to Craig Leslie on October 14, 1961. They later divorced. She was married to Richard Mueller on September 2, 1989 at First Lutheran Church in Geneseo. Carole worked as a travel consultant and then as the secretary at First Lutheran Church in Geneseo. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Ohio, an active member in WELCA, the Rebecca Circle and the church choir. She is survived by her husband Richard Mueller of Ohio, IL; three sons Mark (Traci) Leslie of Hartland, WI, Lance (Jennifer) Leslie of Bettendorf, IA, Brett (Heather) Leslie of Round Rock, TX; seven grandchildren; David Leslie, Elizabeth Leslie, Jack Leslie, Henry Leslie, Charlie Leslie, Luke Leslie and Piper Leslie; four nieces; three stepchildren Melanie, Megan and Jarod; and three step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents and one sister Diane Krans. Visitation will be held on Saturday December 12, 2015 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday December 13, 2015 at 2p.m. at the First Lutheran Church of Ohio with the Rev. Gene Vincent, pastor officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Ohio. Ohio, Illinois David L. McDonald, age 80 of Ohio, Illinois died Friday, December 4, 2015 at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton. Dave was born September 12, 1935 in Princeton, Illinois the son of Howard I. and Edwardine McDonald. He was united in marriage to Patty Schultz on January 3, 1959 in Ohio, Illinois. Dave owned and operated McDonald Trucking for many years. He was the road commissioner for Ohio Township and a member of the Ohio Fire Department and the Ohio School Board. Dave was a trustee of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Citizens First State Bank of Walnut. He enjoyed golfing and playing cards. He is survived by his wife, Patty of Ohio; 3 sons: Mark (Angie) McDonald of Ohio, Bill (Janis) McDonald of Walnut, Illinois and Joe (Jan) McDonald of Ohio; 1 daughter, Maureen McDonald of Chicago, Illinois; 8 grandchildren: Matt, Anna, Cole McDonald, Sarah, Melissa (Alex Karrow), Olivia McDonald, Kaycee and Darren McDonald and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Louise Gorman. Funeral prayer services will be conducted on Monday, December 7, 2015 at 9:30am at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ohio, with Rev. Thomas Shaw, pastor, officiating. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ohio. Arlene was born on April 11, 1928, the daughter of Fred and Myldred (McCaslin) Coers. She was united in marriage to Walter Kerkhove on April 16, 1950 in Rock Falls, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 23, 1975. She was an Avon saleswoman for over 60 years. She was a member of the Tampico United Methodist Church and the Wa Tan Ya Club. She is survived by one son Arlyn Kerkhove of Prophetstown, Illinois; one daughter Rita (Eddie) Munz of Tampico, Illinois; two grandchildren Scott and Amy Meier, four greatgrandchildren Bradley Meier, Michael Jackley, Ruby Anne Jackley, and Lucas Meier; two brothers Russell (Josephine) Coers of Tampico,Illinois, Earl John (Pat) Coers of Deer Grove,Illinois and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by parents, husband, one grandson Bradley Meier, and two brothers Harold and Francis Coers. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico with the Rev. Leanne Keate, pastor of Tampico United Methodist Church, officiating. Pamela I. Huseman, age 62, of Walnut, Illinois died Sunday, November 29, 2015 at her home.
Pamela was born November 16, 1953, the daughter of Donald and Elizabeth (Jones) Francis in Rantoul, Illinois. She was united in marriage to Glen Huseman on November 3, 1990 at the Walnut United Methodist Church in Walnut. She worked as a CNA at the Walnut Manor in Walnut for 25 years. Pam was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Walnut, the Green River Riders and the Community Club. She enjoyed crafting, Elvis Presley music and helping others in need.
She is survived by her husband, Glen of Walnut, IL; 2 daughters: Michelle (Mike) Dykstra of Walnut, IL and Melissa Brandon of Deer Grove, IL; 1 son, Jeremy (Michelle) Brandon of Walnut, IL; 10 grandchildren; 2 great- grandchildren; her mother, Elizabeth Shirley of Walnut, IL; 1 brother, Donald Francis of Deer Grove, IL; 1 sister, Tammy (Mike) Howlett of Walnut, IL and several nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Francis and one sister in infancy.

Jim was born on June 22, 1964 in Princeton, Illinois, the son of Donald and Anna (DeWaele) Heaton. He was united in marriage to Angela Cassidy on September 25, 1999. He worked at Walnut Custom Home in Walnut. Jim was a member of the Walnut Community Bible Church, Happy Hookers Fishing Club and enjoyed being with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Angela Heaton of Walnut, Il; one daughter Jamie Lynn Heaton; one son James Donald Heaton both of Walnut, Il: his mother Anna (Hubert) Fridge of Walnut, IL; one sister Michelle Lavender of Chicago, IL; one brother Craig Heaton of Walnut, IL; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father. Cremation rites were accorded. A time of sharing will be held on Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. Walnut, IL Charles E. “Bud” Bell, age 93, of Walnut, Illinois died Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Heritage Manor, Walnut. Bud was born June 2, 1922 in Primghar, Iowa the son of Charlie and Ada (Wathan) Bell. He served in the United States Army landing in Normandy on D-Day+6 and participated in the Liberation of Paris and the Battle of the Bulge. Bud was a graduate of Bradford High School. He was united in marriage to Lillian Darmer on May 25, 1946 in Macomb, IL. She preceded him in death on January 7, 2003. Bud and Lillian owned and operated the Walnut Café for 46 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Walnut American Legion Post #179, Wyanet VFW, Walnut Gun Club and Ducks Unlimited. Bud was an avid hunter. He is survived by one daughter, Lilli (John) Ruggeri of Millstadt, IL; one son, Chuck Bell of Newark, NJ; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lillian, 3 brothers and 5 sisters. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut with the Rev. Karen Berg, officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home. Bob was born November 15, 1948, in Rock Falls, IL, the son of William and Lois (Pfeiffer) Stees and was raised by Harry Ferguson. He was united in marriage to Julie Quimby on August 8, 1970 in Lancaster, Missouri. He served in the United States Navy as a Navy Seal during the Vietnam War. Bob was employed as a truck driver in the area for many years and also was involved in restaurants in Walnut and Tampico, Illinois. He enjoyed fishing and racing. He is survived by his wife, Julie of Tampico; seven sons: William Stees, Tyler Stees, Donovan Stees, Dakotah Stees, Zachary Wadelton, Skylar Stees and Chevy Wadelton all of Tampico, IL; two daughters: Mindy Shindel of Davenport, IA and Cherokee Wadelton of Tampico, IL; 14 grandchildren; one great- grandson; his father, Harry (Elaine) Ferguson of Wisconsin; one brother, Perry (Linda) Ferguson of Tampico; one sister, Peggy (Steve) Hadaway of Tampico, IL and several other half brothers and sisters not of the area; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Judy. Funeral services will be held on Monday November 30, 2015 at 6 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico with the Rev. She was born on February 4, 1972 in Princeton, Illinois to Dan and Doris (Kropf) Headings. She married Robert Martin son of John and Ellen Martin on April 16, 1993. Surviving are her husband Robert Martin; three daughters Michelle (Trenton) Hostetler, Lucinda and Joelle; four sons Chris, Craig, Delton and Denley. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Fairfield A.M. Church, rural Tampico. Burial is in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 at the Fairfield A.M. School, adjacent to the church. Garland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Formerly of Princeton Orin C. Heuer, a longtime resident of Labelle, Florida and formerly of Princeton, Illinois passed away peacefully at his home on October 21, 2015. Orin was born January 4, 1934 in Bureau Township, the son of the late Fred T. and Dorothy (Anderson) Heuer. He worked in agricultural sales for Swift Feeds, Fasco and Kent Feeds Ohio Hatchery in Illinois prior to moving to Florida and becoming employed at the Oxbow Golf Resort in Labelle Florida. He has three children Mark Heuer (Mary) of La Grange, Illinois, Dee Ann Heuer of Princeton, Illinois and Dennis Heuer (Sue) of Prospect Heights, Illinois. He is also survived by five loving grandchildren Bridget, Timothy, Abby, Philip and Lizzy and several nieces and nephews. He has a surviving brother Clark Heuer of Labelle Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents Fred T. Heuer and Dorothy E. (Anderson) Heuer Forristall, brother Roger Heuer and sisters Elinor Rici and Dorothy Anderson. Visitation will be Thursday, Oct.29, at the Garland Funeral Home, 14733 IL HWY 92 Walnut IL. from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow the services at Forest Hill Cemetery, Wyanet, IL.

Roy A. Atherton, age 93, of Walnut, IL died Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Heritage Manor in Walnut.
Roy was born on November 3, 1921 in Walnut, IL, the son of Roy and Iva (Whitver) Atherton. He served in the Army Air Corp as a First Lt. during World War II. He served as a navigator in a B17 of the 8th Air Force and flew out of England. Roy returned home and graduated from Monmouth College. He was united in marriage to Jeanne Andersen on February 6, 1949 in Walnut, IL. He owned and operated Atherton Grain Company in Walnut during his lifetime. Roy was past Walnut Rotary President and past board member of the Illinois Grain and Feed Association. He served on the Walnut Grade School Board, Citizen’s Bank Board, Walnut Development and Walnut Manor Board during his lifetime. Roy was very involved in the Walnut Veteran’s Memorial and was a 70 year member of the Walnut American Legion Post #179.
He is survived by his wife Jeanne Atherton of Walnut, IL; one son Bruce (Patti) Atherton of Walnut, IL; one daughter Shari (Joe) Sterrenberg of Chatsworth, IL;four grandchildren Ryan Atherton, Jaime (Jerry) Swift, Lucus (Amanda) Atherton, Casey Sterrenberg; 7 great grandchildren Andrew Atherton, Harrison Hitzler, Landry Hitzler, Karlee Atherton, Hailey Atherton, Hannah Atherton and Madison Atherton; one sister Anita (Tom) Godwin of Exira, IA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter in law Margaret Atherton.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 11a.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut with the Rev. Mark Harkness, pastor of Walnut United Methodist Church, officiating.
