Scott Michael Johnson, age 60, of 500 S. Main St., Princeton, Illinois died suddenly on Saturday, December 9, 2017. Scott had moved from Walnut on December 1, 2017. Scott was born on September 12, 1957 at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton to Gene R. and Lois A (Dimmig) Johnson. He graduated from Lakeland School in Elkhorn, WI in 1975. He worked many jobs over the years, most recently at Prairie View Nursing Home and Perry Memorial Hospital. Scott lived his entire life surrounded by family who loved him very much. He had a heart of gold and loved life. He loved sports and was an avid St. Louis cardinals and chicago Bears fan. In his younger years he helped umpire youth baseball in Walnut. Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents and his mother. Surviving are his father, Gene R. Johnson of Heritage Health in Walnut, IL; his sister, Susan L. (Gary) Brooks of Walnut; and his brother, Steven (Patty) Johnson of Ripon, WI. Also surviving are nieces and nephews: Christopher H. (Sarah) Prokes, and Lilley and Elliott of Marsielles, IL; Gina R. (Dennis) Boyles, Elizabeth and Braden of Princeton; Drew Foes and taylor of of Buda, IL; Emaleigh Morrissey and Jason Floyd, Hunter, Kylie and Presleigh of Sheffield, IL; Annette L. (Ben) Clausen, Ava, Caleb, Greyson and Oliver of Walnut, IL; Devin Cavel of Princeton; Marissa Bacorn of Ripon, WI; Lilley Cavel of Ripon, WI; and Tate McShane Johnson of Ripon, WI. Scott had a special relationship with his family. He loved Christmas and decorating for the season. He saved his change all year to fill Easter Eggs for the children’s Easter egg hunt on Easter. Scott will be missed by his family and many friends around Bureau County in Illinois, and Walworth County in Wisconsin. Cremation rites were acccorded and a visitation and memorial services will be held for Scott in the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut on Saturday, December 30, 2017. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., with the memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Mark Harkness, pastor of the Walnut United Methodist Church officiating. A luncheon will be held at the Walnut United Methodist Church immediatelly following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, there will be a memorial directed to the Walnut Park District, in honor of Scott’s love of sports and his association with the park district over the years.
